Eamonn Heffernan is a Co. Wicklow based wood sculptor designing both abstract and traditional figures but specialising in Irish bog oak sculptures. He is intrigued by the timeless quality of the locally sourced bog oak and takes pride in its preparation, sculpting, and presentation of the product in equal measure, a process that takes almost three years following removal from the bog producing unique pieces and specialised commissions.
One of the outstanding features of this area is the Ancient Bogs. He has been working in all forms of wood for the past 15 years, but only since mid 2005 has he been working full time as an Artist with special interest in sculpting bog oak. Over the pass few years Eamonn has studied at courses in wood carving and painting at University College Dublin, Hugh Lane Gallery, and Blessington Community College.

The Exhibitions have included, The Dunlavin Arts Festival, Glencree Reconciliation Centre, and Russborough House. He also has had work on display in various Galleries both in Ireland and overseas.
