I am originally from the North side of Dublin. I went to boarding school in the west of Ireland. I did life drawing classes near Trinity College in the early 1970 and went to NCAD in 1979 to do an Art Craft and Design Education course.
I worked for Barnardos on a special needs project in West Tallaght teaching Art and Craft. I also worked with adults on art projects in the West Tallaght area. I ran Art and Craft classes for young children for many years. I am now retired and enjoying Art for relaxation and self-expression.
I mainly use Oils and Pastels and am influenced by Nature, People, and Places, there is inspiration everywhere. I need to be inspired by what I see to be moved to create a piece of art work. I use earthy colours and love to create contrast between light and dark in my paintings. I like to capture a calm, peaceful and relaxed mood or a moment in time. My paintings are realistic with a natural sense of depth and space.
I am a member of the artist’s group Cruthu. ,
